EBS refers to a more complicated brake control system which is based on electronic signal processing. EBS electronic control unit (ECU) controls the whole system and communicate with each component as a result of signal input gathered from various sensors. Abilities of ABS and ASR systems are integrated in EBS electronic system where the braking distance is improved. ABS function integrated into the EBS system enhance driving stability and provide steering during braking. While the driver’s control of the vehicle becomes easier, it also increases safety. Electronic braking system (EBS) is used in all new generation heavy duty commercial vehicles. Embeded software of EBS system is responsible for intelligent braking by considering entire vehicle sub-systems and even the load carried. Therefore EBS requires a more complicated development phase.
